Wouldn’t you know it, I’ve been sick all this second week of MoFo and I’m having a rough time keeping up. So instead of snack/drink and dessert posts, I’m going to do my first MoFo giveaway, a copy of the Happy Herbivore cookbook!
Just leave a comment by 10/19/12 telling me what your favorite fall food is and make sure there is a way for me to get in touch with you.
The winner will be selected by a random number generator and announced on Saturday, 10/20/12. The winner has 48 hours to respond to their notification email to claim their prize. If they do not respond, another winner will be chosen by random number generator.
My favourite fall food is definitely quince. They’re semi-hard to find, a little difficult to work with, but completely worth all the effort.
Oooh me please! Get well soon
My favourite fall food is butternut squash soup
I hope you feel better! My favorite fall foods are baked apples and anything pumpkin!
I’m here courtesy of a MoFo RSS feed, so thanks for the giveaway (and sorry to hear you’ve been sick)! My favorite fall food are fuyu persimmons. My grandparents have a tree and we eat them fresh, dried and in pies. Yum!

I love pumpkin! I know, soooooo original. 🙂
Pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin scones, pumpkin soup. Etc.
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that you are sick! booo. I hope you are feeling better soon! I don’t know what my favorite fall food is… I guess apples! It’s apple season here with our apple tree going crazy, so I am getting ready to make an enormous batch of applesauce, and just generally start eating lots of apples.
Pumpkin or apple pie! Mmm
My favorite fall food is fresh, crisp apples.

I love winter squash, especially delicata and acorn so I’m always excited to see those popping up in the fall. Last fall and winter I made a lot of stuffed acorn squash with quinoa and other fall produce. This year I have been enjoying soup more than anything else though. When it starts to get cooler, I just need a big bowl of thick, creamy homemade soup. That’s the best.
Try gargling with cayenne pepper 1/8 tsp to 1 cup warm water and see! Favorite fall food? Pumpkin!
It’s hard to decide. I love apple pie, I love squashes, I love roasted chestnuts and I love persimmons.
A couple of weeks ago I would have said pumpkin, but then I kinda OD’ed on pumpkin, so I’m just gonna go with curries. I love them year-round, but I think they are perfect for fall/winter weather.
My favorite winter food is butternut squash soup!

My favorite is definitely anything pumpkin and tons of homemade soup.
It used to be eggnog…so I think I may have to look into a vegan alternative. Mmmm. Another fall favorite is apple cider!
When Thanksgiving rolls around, I get excited for the stuffing, and sometimes also make a chestnut puree which is sooooo good (but labor-intensive unless I find the pre-shelled ones).
get well soon!
Not sure if the giveaway extends to the UK, but either way, I love that autumn gives me another excuse to dramatically increase my hot chocolate consumption!
My favorite fall food is roasted veggies and warm homemade bread with seasoned olive oil for dipping. Guess that’s more than one but they just go so well together! It is also what I’m having for dinner tonight 🙂
Hope you feel better soon.
So hard to choose! Starchy, rich, earthy foods. Potatoes, mushrooms, cabbage… Two I’m planning for this week are halushki and Hungarian mushroom soup.
I think I’m going to have to go with the stuffed tofu roast that I always make for Thanksgiving. That, and the double layer pumpkin cheezecake for dessert! 🙂
Feel better soon! Favourite Autumn food has to be pumpkin soup for cool evenings, and the arrival of feijoas on the trees. Best!!
I love soups and stews in the fall. I had a fantastic onion soup and also a roasted red pepper soup this week. Was perfect for the chilly evenings.
Even though it is now available year round, my favorite fall treat is butternut squash. I love to roast it plain, sliced on a cookie sheet with parchment. I love eating it as a savory dish, and I also love eating it with maple syrup. So good!
Soups and stews. Arabian lentil and rice soup from Appetite for reduction is lovely for cold days.
Hot chocolate and anything pumpkiny!
It’s gotta be apple butter. Well, apple butter is one of those fantastically delicious foods that isn’t actually made with butter… or at least the kind I like isn’t. It’s made at a local orchard, and it’s the world’s finest topping on toast. Or a cracker. Or on your index finger straight out of the jar. But don’t tell my roommate. 🙂
Apple Crisp! I use up all my apples every week that way.
Right now my favorite is a dish of steaming hot spiced pear and fig crumble. Cheers!
butternut squash soup!
Anything pumpkin – and then just when it starts tipping over into winter, there’s persimmons! I love persimmons. Well, actually, it seems I love orange food. 🙂
PIE! Any kind. Every kind. I ❤ pie.
Apples! Apple pie, apple crisp, apple cake, fresh apples, applesauce… any kind of apple is my favourite.
Aww. Sorry to hear you’ve been sick! I hope you’re better soon!
Fall is really all about beverages for me… Hot apple cider, vegan pumpkin spice lattes, hot chocolate. Okay, and I am obsessed with winter squash (fall squash!) too.
Persimmons. No, quince!
Honeycrisp apples and concord grapes!
